CTI MARINE SERVICES BECOMES KR’S APPROVAL OF IHM SUPPLIER

Apr 22, 2019 1:30:00 PM

Singapore  April 19, 2019, POLY NDT PTE LTD, a member of CTI Group, trading as CTI Marine Services was proudly received the certificate of Approval of Service Supplier issued by Korean Register (KR) for Visual/Sampling check and testing for hazardous material.

CTI Marine Services, as the 1st KRS Approved Service Supplier for IHM in Singapore, 2nd outside of Europe and 4th globally, is very appreciative of the support from KRS enabling approval within 3 weeks of application submission. It was a good opportunity to exhibit the quality and capabilities of CTI Marine Services.

Mr. John Ren, Director of CTI Marine Services, remarked: “It has been an honor for us being the first Singapore company and the second company outside EU accredited by classification society–Korean Register (KR). We are delighted and look forward to working with KR and ship owners to put approved IHM documents onboard ships in timely manners”.

CTI Marine Services is being one of the handful companies worldwide that are officially recognized or authorized by most of the largest classification societies; Class NK, DNV-GL, ABS, LR, BV, CCS, and latest Korean Register (KR).

CTI Marine Services has more than 9 years’ experience in IHM surveys/Hazmat Consultancy. They have been providing accredited services worldwide and their services include IHM Inspection and Preparation, Hazmat Laboratory Testing, Maritime Hazmat Training and Consultancy, IHM Online Database Maintenance Software, Asbestos Survey for Marine Assets, Asbestos Management/Mitigation/Removal Project Management and Asbestos Air Monitoring.

The Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) requirements of the EU-Ship Recycling Regulation enters into effect on 30 December 2013. From the end of 2020 onwards, the EU-Ship Recycling Regulation requires that all EU-visiting or EU-flagged ships have a certified IHM onboard. With around 30,000 to 40,000 ships being affected, it is strongly recommended that ship owners and operators of ships trading to EU ports, start planning to comply with EU SRR well ahead due to the vast number of ships that will require compliance at the same time and IHM-expert resources will become scarce at the later time.
